Struck by Lightning

In Hickory Sunday night we had a HUGE storm. I was on my way to my friends house and all the street lights on 127 just cut off and tree branches started blowing across the five laned road. It seemed perfect for a scary movie scene and i'm not gonna lie I was scared. Then, on the radio, a man turns off the music and starts saying stuff like " if you are driving, go to a clear area where there isn't many trees. take shelter now" and i looked around and there weere trees all around me. Not to mention I was driving alone. So I deccided to turn around and go home. When I was about to pull in to my driveway, I noticed the powerline I was about to go under was sparking. and things were falling off of it. Luckily, I went on the other side of the line to avoid going under the line, and right when i drove by a lit up branch fell on the road. I got home and we couldn't open our garage because our power was out. We got in and Sophie, my dog, was scared out of her mind. I watched the sparking powerline from a window of my house and it caught on fire. After awhile, my mom caled Duke Energy and the Police and my dad went outside to help hose down the neighbors area. The powerline had started sparking onto the trees, house, and cars of my neighborhood. The firetruck then came and they had to block off the roads and everything. It was crazy. I asked my mom if i could bring the firemen cookies but she said no. They were there until like 12 and we didnt get power until like 2. LONG NIGHT!
